Are these prepared for dye (PFD)?
They're bright white, 100% cotton with no polyester blend. We recommend a hot pre-wash without fabric softener to remove any finishing agents before dyeing.
Will they shrink?
Like any 100% cotton goods, expect some shrinkage on the first wash — roughly 3–5%. Pre-wash before you print, stitch, or size them to your target finished dimensions.
What embroidery hoops do they fit?
20" × 30" comfortably accommodates standard 5" × 7" and 8" × 10" hoops with clean margins on all sides, and leaves room for larger multi-position designs.
Are they bleach-safe?
Yes — bleach-safe for both care and tie-dye prep.
Is the weave tight enough for fine detail?
40s × 36s at 180 GSM is a fine enough weave for standard embroidery densities and typical screen mesh counts. For ultra-fine halftone work, we'd always suggest a test pull first.
Do they come hemmed?

These towels are substantial making a great canvas for machine embroidery. They are larger than most at 20x30. Out of the wash and dryer they measured 19.75x28.5 with minimal lint in the dryer. They are cut on-grain so they remain square coming out of the dryer. These towels are not as soft as some others I have purchased but are still quite absorbent. I would love it if they came in a couple of other basic colors. You will not find a higher quality towel for the price.
